THE STORY OF UBR...
Urban Baby Runway is a single mother owned and operated children's boutique in Baltimore and all over the web. Like almost everyone else who ventures in to the children's industry, the idea of Urban Baby Runway came to me shortly after the birth of my son Julian in July 2005. Almost a year later in June 2006, Urban Baby Runway was born.
Urban Baby Runway was started from a love of all things baby and a desire to keep my mind active during the downtime of being a stay at home parent. Strictly online and home based, UBR allowed me to stay home with my son. However, it turns out there really isn't any downtime of being a stay at home parent and so the busy, child wrangling days and the late night work began. A rewarding and exhausting experience.
Like all children, Urban Baby Runway grew rapidly and before you knew it, UBR was moving out of the house and in to it's very own brick & mortar. The Urban Baby store front in Baltimore opened September, 2010.
For over two years I juggled both a successful website and brick & mortar. In December 2012, I realized that between the two, there wasn't enough of me left over to be the mom I wanted to be. So 12.30.12 we closed the doors to our store front and went back to the basics with e-commerce in search of much needed balance. You can read more about my decision here.
At Urban Baby Runway, I only bring you what I love and try to support stay at home and work at home parents as well as all small business owners as often as I can. That will always remain something very important to me so I really appreciate the support I receive. Urban Baby keeps my little family going. I love what I do and hope you enjoy UBR as well.
